UA local 72 plumbers are trained using an extensive and comprehensive five year apprenticeship program . After completing our Apprenticeship Training Program UA 72 plumbers have 8,000 “On the Jobsite Training (OJT) hours and 1,200 classroom hours. They also have a state of Georgia journeyman license, back flow certification ,OSHA 30 hour safety  training, and medical gas installer and brazing certification. 

Our members can work on a 50 story office buildings, like the Georgia Aquarium, or service In-home emergency plumbing calls. UA local 72 plumbers are ready to take care of all your plumbing needs.

Skills needed to be a UA local 72 plumber include: Read and interpret designer drawings. Having a full grasp of specifications to determine layout of water supply, waste, and venting systems. Detect faults in plumbing appliance systems, and correctly diagnose their causes. Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Locate marking positions for pipe connections, passage holes, fixtures in walls, floor measuring, cutting, bend threading pipes using hand and power tools or machines. Join pipe fitting together using soldering techniques, compression fittings, threaded fittings, and push-on fittings. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges

UA local 72 also has multiple signatory contractors with fully comprehensive plumbing service departments . Our service plumbers maintain plumbing systems in all areas: industrial, commercial , or residential. A UA 72 service plumber is trained to diagnose all problems you may be experiencing no matter the size, time, or how quickly the customer needs repair.
